The smaller spoons were probably used for soups or rice. The larger ones or ladles were probaly used as serving spoons. All examples do not have rain cloud borders, bridges, sampans, etc. They do nicely depict tea houses and are quite delicate. The ladles weigh 5 oz. and the spoons less than 1 oz. each. The spoons are scarce and the ladles rare and are priced accordingly. The ladles have holes in the ends to hang them up. All the bottoms are glazed. These examples do not have the complete Canton pattern but that is probably because there is little room for the typical scene.
