Tea Caddies

TEA CADDIES-HEXAGONAL (Equal Sides)

A very rare if not unique Canton hexagonal tea caddy. The sides are equal in width and the typical Canton scene is on the sides. The rain cloud border only appears around the top. The caddy has a hexagonal base rim. Note: as many tea caddy tops have been broken or lost, their presence adds considerably to the caddy’s value. This caddy’s top is unglazed on the inside and fits over an unglazed throat. Some caddies have glazed throats and glazed insides of the tops. Be careful when you buy a caddy that they match in this regard.

TEA CADDIES-HEXAGONAL (Non-Equal Sides)

A very rare Canton piece. It has 2 flowers on top of the base. The rest of the caddy has the typical Canton scene and the rain cloud border only appears around the top. The caddy has 6 corner feet. Note: as many tea caddy tops have been broken or lost, their presence adds considerably to the caddy’s value. This caddy’s top is unglazed on the inside and fits over an unglazed throat. Some caddies have glazed throats and glazed insides of the tops. Be careful when you buy tea caddies that they match in this regard.

TEA CADDIES-OCTAGONAL

These two are very rare octagonals and although they have the same shape there are differences. Besides the size difference, the larger tea caddy has the rain cloud border both on the top and on the top of the base. The smaller one only has the rain cloud border on the top and has 4 flowers on top of the base.

TEA CADDIES-SQUARE

The rest of the caddy has the typical Canton scene and the rain cloud border only appears around the top. The caddy has 4 corner feet. Note: as many tea caddy tops have been broken or lost, their presence adds considerably to the caddy’s value. This caddy’s top is glazed on the inside and fits over a glazed throat.
