Other Museum Collections

British Museum, London England—-A great London museum but their porcelain collection is not as extensive as the Victoria and Albert. We did not find any Canton there but we are picturing an orange Fitzhugh plate and a Nanking plate.

Cliveden House Museum, Germantown, PA—-A property of the National Trust for Historic Preservation; 35 Canton pieces are pictured on their extensive and interesting website:  http://www.freedomsbackyard.com/historic-attractions/cliveden-of-the-national-trust/

Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, MA
Historic Williamsburg
McCulloch Hall
Metropolitan Museum of Art
Mount Vernon

Victoria & Albert Museum, London, England—-This is our favorite museum in London. It is the world’s largest museum of decorative arts and design, housing a permanent collection of over 4.5 million objects. They have a huge display of porcelain from around the world. The following pictures show the one piece of Canton we found there, a Ewer, and 2 pictures of their glass cases in an enormous room. The very long lengthwise cases are just a sample of the many cases displaying their collections of porcelain. Do not miss the V&A when in London!
